Today my father was teaching me
A mathematical sum–
Suppose, there’re two birds sitting on a branch
One was killed by a bullet of a hunter
How many birds will now be there?
Instead of working out the sum
My mind reaches to the lone alive bird
And it reminds me at once–
You’re today absent in the class.
Translation: Nazib Wadood
